If your primary and backup beneficiaries pass away before you have time to change your Will, your estate would pass on to the children of your named backup beneficiaries (if they have any) or passed to your next of kin (which is generally your parents or siblings).
These clauses are automatically written into the Will document.
For example, if your primary beneficiary is your partner, and your backup beneficiaries are your children, and you all pass away together, your estate will be passed to your grandchildren (if you have any), or otherwise to your next of kin.
Can I specify what I want to happen if all my beneficiaries die?
