When can I download my Will?
After you have submitted your Will for review, it is sent to our affiliate law firm Safewill Legal who will review your Will for you. Your Will is reviewed to ensure that the information you have entered correctly follows the questions that have been asked in the Safewill platform. The review process typically takes 1–3 business days under normal circumstances. However, during peak periods, such as promotional events, it may take 10–15 business days. You will receive an email notification once the review is complete, along with instructions for downloading and signing your will.
If your Will has been approved: If our legal advisors have not picked up any concerns with your Will, you will receive an email letting you know your Will has been approved. Once your Will has been approved, you can log into your account to download your Will.
If your Will has been flagged: If our legal advisors have identified any areas that require your attention, you will receive an email informing you about this and you will then be able to log into your account to see which areas have been flagged and our recommendations on next steps.
Additionally, if you make edits after submitting your will, ensure you resubmit it for review. Unsubmitted changes will keep the status as "in progress." Once approved, your will can be downloaded as a PDF, and you will receive signing instructions to finalise it.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Will Not Visible in Account
If your will does not appear in your Safewill account, ensure that the approval process has been completed. You will receive an email notification once your will is approved and ready for download.
Unable to Download Will
If you cannot download your will, confirm that it has been approved. Wills cannot be downloaded while awaiting approval. If your will is marked as "In Progress" or has been reopened for editing, resubmit it for review. Once approved, you will receive an email notification, and the will can be downloaded as a PDF along with signing instructions.
Dashboard Shows Will as "Not Complete"
If your dashboard still shows your will as "not complete" after submission, this status may persist during the review period. Wait for the review to be completed and for the approval notification email. If you made edits after submitting, ensure you resubmit the will. Unsubmitted changes will keep the status as "in progress."
What Should I Do if My Will Is Flagged?
Log In to Your Safewill Account: Begin by accessing your account on the Safewill platform.
Review the Flag Notification: Upon logging in, you’ll see specific reasons why your will was flagged. This will provide guidance on whether updates are needed in the Estate/Gift section, Notes section, or elsewhere.
Update Your Will Accordingly: Follow the provided instructions to make corrections or adjustments as necessary. Ensure that all legal and binding aspects are specified correctly.
Save or Download the Adjusted Will: Once the changes are made, you can save or download the corrected version of your will as a PDF for your records.
Ignore the Flag: If you are comfortable with the notes being treated as non-binding guidance, you can dismiss the review flag by selecting the "Ignore" option. This informs the legal team that you are aware of the issue but do not wish to make changes.
