Safewill provides a streamlined process for reviewing and finalising your Will. This involves submitting your draft for legal review, receiving approval, and completing the necessary steps to make your Will legally binding.
Our affiliate law firm Safewill Legal will verify that you have used the platform correctly to ensure compliance with all required standards.
Steps to Submit and Resubmit a Will
Submitting Your Will for Review:
Log into your Safewill account.
Ensure all sections of your Will, including the Executor & Funeral section, are complete.
Navigate to the Will section and click Submit for Review.
Review and confirm your Will before submission.
Resubmitting After Changes:
If you make changes to your Will after submission, you must resubmit it for review to ensure the updated version is legally valid.
We can expedite the review process if the situation is time sensitive so please let us know when you submit your Will. Typically, the review and finalisation process takes 1-3 business days, allowing for a thorough review to ensure compliance with legal standards.
You will also receive a notification once the review is complete to inform you of the next steps. The review process generally takes a few business days, so please allow this time before expecting your notification.
Once your Will is approved, you can download it as a PDF from your Safewill dashboard. Print the document and sign it in the presence of two witnesses to make it legally binding. A Will becomes legally binding only after it is properly signed and witnessed. Ensure you follow the required signing formalities, including having two witnesses present during the signing. While there is no strict deadline for signing your Will, it is advisable to complete this step promptly to ensure your wishes are legally documented and to avoid potential delays.
