Can my partner and I share an email address?

Written by Sasha Best

No. Each customer needs to use an individual email address when they register for a Safewill profile and create a Will. This is part of our Terms of Use, and ensures the best legal protection, privacy and data security.

If your partner did not receive the invitation or the email was deleted, you can resend it:

  1. Log into your Safewill account.

  2. Open the menu (three horizontal lines in the top-right corner) and select the "Invite" tab.

  3. Under "Your Gifts," choose "Send Gift" for the Will and/or Power of Attorney.

  4. Enter your partner’s email address and press SEND. Your partner will receive a new email with the link to create their documents, and any applicable code will be applied at checkout to ensure it’s free.

Once you have created a Will it is possible for your partner to create their own Will as a mirror to yours. We do this by repopulating the data so they don't have to go through the hassle of entering all the information a second time. This is part of our partner package, which allows your partner to receive their Will at half price - so it only costs $240 for the two of you instead of $160 per Will. To create a Mirror Will for your partner, follow these steps:

  1. Complete Your Own Will: Log into your Safewill account and complete your will. During checkout, add a "Partner Will" to your cart (discounted by 50%).

  2. Partner Completes Their Will: Your partner will receive an email with a link to access their prefilled Mirror Will. They must review and complete it in their own Safewill account.
